The way the teach organizes the classroom is extremely important. For big classrooms with children, the traditional arrangement is probably best, with rows of desks, all with a clear sightline to the teacher. In small classrooms, alternate arrangements such as the horseshoe will create a more relaxed, intimate environment and encourage students to participate with each other. If possible, it is useful to have some variety by using pairs and small groups.
