Though a return to theoretical aspects of teaching English, this unit showed many practical applications. for reading and listening. It started by discussing the reasons for reading and listening: for a purpose or for entertainment. After this the unit showed how we read and listen, common problems, and how to overcome them with pre-teaching and careful text selection. Some general considerations for lesson plans followed and then several sample worksheets/activities. The accompanying video added example plans for both a reading and a listening lesson.
