After learning this unit, I have an overview of the role of teachers and what makes a good teacher as well as a good learner.
About the teacher, a teacher have about nine main following roles:manager or controller, organizer,assessor, prompter, participant, tutor, resource or facilitator,model and observer or monitor.Through the unit, I understand more details about the each role. Depending on the type of activities, the teachers have to employ different roles. A good teacher is who can switch be between roles and carry out the required roles skillful at the right time. Moreover, a good teacher also need some certain qualities and moralities, personalities such as loving teaching, good knowledge, know how to motivate learners... Talking in a simple way, a good teacher is a teacher that really cares about his/her teaching but cares even more about how to help students learn in the effective way.
About the learners, There are many factors that effect to perceive to be a good learner such as: a willingness to listen,to ask question, a desire tolearn,to experiment with the language,an ability to think about their own learning method, an acceptance of error connection. Besides, the learners are also different from the age, learning experience, motivation, nervousness, language awareness, behavior problems, life experience, culture and first language, language level. Each above characteristic decide the learning method of learners so that the teachers need to consider to find the best way to help the learners. The relatonship between the teachers and the learners are very important and complex issue. A teacher with full of energies, enthusiatic, motivation, sensitive, caring ... is much more likely to have successfull students than others. As a result a good teacher have more sucessfull students.
