In unit 2, I have learnt the essentials of the English grammar. I was surprised at the many different categories of nouns, adjectives and verbs etc. It was interesting to find out that the everyday sentences I write and speak could be broken down into different parts of speech. Whilst I feel confident that I could correct student’s to use the correct grammar, I feel I will still need to further understand the English grammar to be better able to explain it to students who wish for a more formal/structured explanation as I expect from perhaps the older, adult learners.
