In unit 11 I learned about the two main receptive skills reading and listening. I learned that you read or listen for two main purposes one is for a purpose and the other is for entertainment. I also learned that we read and listen with our minds, because we have to interpret the information for it to mean anything. I also learned that we read and listen in many different ways such as, predicatively, scanning, skimming, detailed information, and deduction from context. Furthermore, it is important to pre-teach vocabulary and choose texts carefully such as, non-authentic texts.
