Though this unit was rather short I enjoyed the detail that was present. These may be basic skills, but as I am in the process of learning another language it is made clear how careful one must be in choosing what to use in order to Engage the students. IF the Engage phase fails the rest of the lesson may not be as rewarding to the students or the teacher than it otherwise may have been. When the Engage phase succeeds the follow-up Study and Activates must correspond well with what the Engage phase focused in order to keep a strong sense of continuity throughout the lesson. It is a tall order, but it is a worthy ideal to aim for.
