This unit is essentially a refresher on the parts of speech. As noted in the unit text, most native English speakers know how a sentence should "sound" (or at least, recognize when it sounds incorrect), but few people could recite the hard and fast rules governing grammar usage. I worked as a newspaper editor for seventeen years and have written eighteen novels -- but even all that experience doesn't mean I can recite the rules right off the top of my head when asked.
