There are many teaching methods utilized to engage with ESL students. I like the Communicative Language teaching method as it encourages students to focus on using the language in real life situations. I like the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) method as it splits up the lesson into manageable parts, starting with a warm up in the Engage phase, followed by a more structured lesson in the Study phase and then using the knowledge acquired in the Study phase to focus on using the language freely through role playing and story writing. This method will best engage the student.
