This was an eye-opener to how much I did not understand about the basic formation of the English language. One of the weaknesses of being a native speaker is that you take all of these rules for granted, or in some cases be fully unaware of them. For instance I did not know about the "size, description, object" order when it came to anything. I saw nothing wrong with putting that in any order, but it is enlightening to know that there is a proper order for this.
This provided the exhaustive detail to each part of speech and grammar that I felt I learned at one point, but these rules never really stuck with me. I think since it will require that I internalize these rules it will greatly influence my ability to teach English, should that be required at some point in the future. It was wonderful to learn some of the underlying logic behind the way the language is constructed.
