The second lesson was highly effective. The teacher was positive, used a variety of techniques (including pairs activities) and got all the student involved, going from student to student. I liked the pronunciation drills where he first had the group repeat the word and then had individual students pronounce the same word. This ensured that the students were prepared and successful by the time they were individually called upon. However, even in the second lesson the teacher spent 75% of the time centered on the black board, which is contrary to what you suggested in a prior unit. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, this teacher was very skilled and taught a good lesson. I know that teachers can have completely different approaches and be effective, so I admired this lesson. On the other hand, it was just too much turning towards the board and back to the class.
