Course material is important for an ESL classroom, however, course books can be limiting. These books may be designed in a way that doesn't fit the needs and levels of the students in a teacher's class. Therefore, the teacher must get creative and utilize authentic or created materials in place of or in addition to the course book that was chosen. By adding materials that are more tailored to the class, it will be more relevant to the students; making them want to participate more and find value in the class.
