The final unit was about troubleshooting various problems that EFL teachers might encounter. It went over first lessons and how to establish a rapport and evaluate the students. It described "warmer" activities and how they can be used to get students in a positive frame of mind about the class. It covered techniques for dealing with classes that include students with varying English proficiencies. It listed some techniques that are useful for effectively engaging large classes. It went over how to keep a class from using its native language (and when it might be acceptable, if not ideal). It talked about why students might be reluctant to speak out loud and how to encourage them. Finally, it mentioned difficulties with listening texts, and reminded teachers to make sure that the difficulties are not actually caused by inaudible recordings.
