In Unit 5, I learned about Managing classes. Class management is a skill of organizing, managing and maintaining discipline. Proper use of eye contact, gestures and voice are the factors to get students attention and to convey lessons effectively. Lastly, using students name can be used to alert student during class. In grouping students, there are many kinds of grouping system- whole class grouping, pair works, a student working on their own and group work. Each group system has its pros and cons. Pairwork, for example, allows the students to share ideas and thoughts within the group but students will try to speak on their native language. In arranging the classroom, the teachers should consider space availability, nationality and students personality. There are factors why there are disciplinary problems. But these problems can be resolved by establishing a rapport, being fair and consistent and making lessons interesting.
