This lesson gave me a more detailed understanding of receptive language and the different ways that it can be taught effectively in the classroom. One interesting aspect of this unit that I did not know before was that using authentic texts can sometimes be inappropriate to teaching based on the proficiency level of the student. This will be something that I will consider when designing lesson plans.
