The role of the teacher plays an important role in the classroom. During a typical lesson I believe that it is important for a teacher to be organized, be prompter, a tutor, a monitor, a facilitator and a participant. I have been an educational technician and language facilitator for the past 20 years and have sometimes substituted for teachers when they are absent,I have always used these methods in the classroom. I also feel that the teachers ability to distinguish between students ability to speak english is important, the student might have a problem with the lesson but is unable to tell you because his/her ability to speak English is very limited. This is why teachers are good when they are motivator and are aware of their students ability to communicate in English.
