This is the first unit where I felt a wealth of information. I am going to be brand new to teaching, so learning all the different teaching methods will be immensely helpful. I like that teaching can be broken down into Engage, Study, Activate stages. It will help with lesson planning and figuring out where to go with the class. It was interesting to learn that I should not always correct the student on their misuse of the English language. I learned that there are more times than not where I, as the teacher, will have to step back and be a monitor of the class. This lesson also gave me numerous ideas for activities to incorporate into each stage of the class. I assumed a typical class would go from engage, to study, to activate. It was interesting to learn that you can really jump around within the lesson as long as you end on an activate stage. I am excited to begin practicing lesson planning after going through this unit.
