The videos contrasted how one of the most important factors for a successful lesson is the teacher’s attitude towards his students as well as their lesson planning. In the first lesson the teacher was not friendly or inviting, he did not introduce himself and made disparaging remarks throughout the class about the students. In the second lesson he made a point of being polite which in addition to better teaching practices caused a warmer feeling in the class which encouraged students. Teachers need to combine both an effective attitude and good teaching practices to ensure the lesson will be as effective as possible.
