This unit focused on the Future Tense. The future tense has 7 forms, namely the future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, using 'be going + infinitive', using the present simple tense and the present continuous tense. The future simple tense is used for future facts and certainties, making promises, predictions, assumptions, speculations, spontaneous decisions and threats. The future continuous tense is used that something will be happening at a particular time in the future. It predicts the present to say that we know what might be happening now, for politely asking about someone's plans, or to refer to future events. The future perfect tense is used to say that something will have been completed by a definite time in the future. The perfect continuous tense is used to show how long something will have continued by a certain time. Using be going + infinitive to show intentions, predictions and plans. The present simple tense can be used in the future tense to suggest formal situations, timetables and schedules and to suggest a more impersonal tone. Lastly, the present continuous tense can also be used in the future tense for definite arrangements and for decisions and plans without a time frame.
