Currently, I've been teaching in Thailand for 6 months now as an English teacher. This specific unit in the course helped me a lot to learn about my teaching style and what roles I usually use in the classroom setting.
I usually would mix roles into the class depending on the lesson plan that I have. With the proficiency of my students being among the 3: Beginner, Elementary and Pre-Intermediate. So most of the time I would be a hybrid of the "manager" and "model." I usually use this for my conversational classes and explain to them when to use words and phrases. After our planned activities, I'd play as an "Assessor" and "Tutor" as I roam around the classroom.
It's quite great, especially being able to differentiate the levels of my learners at school and discovering what makes them motivated to study and learn English.
