As the unit pointed out course books can have some difficulties- from selecting the best or most appropriate to the topics and how your students will relate to them. Course books can be useful as it can help in creating a syllabus, the teacher can then tailor it by adding or subtracting from it. In my opinion I think course books are mostly useful for creating a syllabus. I’ve found that they almost always need supplemental materials and sometimes the unit does not apply to the current group of students and must either be omitted, adjusted or left for a later date.
