This unit has taught me that getting students to use correct pronunciation is a very difficult skill to master. Also, the use of the phonetic alphabet and the phonetic symbols could be a very difficult concept for the foreign student as different nationalities pronounce English in different ways due to cultural differences. The teaching of correct pronunciation applies to all levels of ability, but the study of universal phonetic symbols and the stresses and intonation of sentences might only apply to higher levels
