it's even more complicated that tenses. but actually I noticed the more you speak or especially write in Engish the more your logic develops and you can 'feel' sometimes that this or that sentence is wrong. of course, teacher should explain to his students how to build the correct sentence. but only with experience they will start to understand and feel it. I think no matter how good you learn this material without experience you are unable to choose the best tense
