This unit breaks down how teachers should balance course books and created materials. Both are important in the classroom since students need structure but need to have fun as well. Role-play materials provided in the unit are rather simple to use and recreate for a teacher’s personal lesson planning. As an inexperienced teacher, when to use course books or to create new materials seems daunting. However, it depends on my students’ level and what they need to learn. I will have to consider what kinds of materials are best for them on any given day/week/month. This unit is a great way for me to think about how I can tackle longer term lesson series and create the best environment for my students.
