In this unit I learned the ways to encourage new vocabulary and how important eliciting new vocabulary is in a students development. In the lesson, I learned different ways to elicit new vocabulary through the engage stage, the study stage, and the activate stage of a lesson plan. Also, the unit went through potential lesson plans using the patchwork ESA structure, the straight arrow structure, and the boomerang structure in order to encourage higher use of new words by the students.
