This unit was a useful overview about how to leverage the use of available materials and how to maximise their efficiency. The key is to understand the level of the students as well as their motivation. I was reminded of when I was a teenager learning Spanish in Spain where we used a wide range of both authentic and created materials, in addition to a course book. The whole experience was much more fun and relevant than what I was used to in my traditional classes back in the UK that only used course books.
