Unit 5 was about managing the classroom. I learned how to use eye contact, gestures, voice and student's names in the classroom. I learned the pros and cons of grouping students in pairs, whole-class groups, small groups, and students working on their own. I learned options for classroom arrangement, and learned how the position of the teacher affects the classroom. I learned how to use the board, give individual attention, and give instructions. I learned about teacher talking time, student talking time, and how to establish rapport. Finally I learned about behavioral problems, and how to prevent and respond to them.
