Most of the material discussed in this unit are pretty basic, however I still found the portion discussing how we read and listen to be very interesting. As a native speaker I often don't think about the words I read because it comes so natural and ingrained in my brain from studying the language at a young age. But when I put myself in the shoes of my students, it's easy to see that reading and listening become a lot more difficult because not living in an English speaking environment greatly limits their pre-existent knowledge on many topics. Therefore, it will be important for me to find topics that can easily relate to students and slowly help build up their knowledge on all topics.
