Teaching a new language vocabulary can be a chalenge to teachers. Select appropriate vocabulary according to the level of the students is very important. If the teacher successed the students will be able to learn the meaning of the words, how to use word grammar, interactions, spelling and pronunciation and even better, they will be able to see the associations between those grammar structures, that will facilitate the way they use the language.
Some methods that can be used to engage when teaching vocabulare are: realia, mime and action, pictures, contrast, discussion, discovery. Study: gap-fill exercises, word searches, crosswords, matching exercises, example sentences. Activate: role-play, simulation, story building, debate.
