This unit was about different components of language that students may need to be taught. The foundational language lessons may be vocabulary, grammar or function concept. When choosing vocabulary, it is important to consider if the vocabulary is appropriate for the student, appropriate for the task, seen or heard by the student regularly. It is important to include certain information in the different lessons. For example, when teaching grammar, the teacher should include how to use the skill, when it is used and the meanings.
