This unit taught me about many different strategies for maintaining not only control of the classroom but also good relationships between the students and myself, as well as student to student relationships. I learned about times when it is appropriate for the instructor to speak, when the instructor should use certain gestures, and how the instructor can ensure that all students remain engaged in the material. I also learned about the many different ways to arrange the desks or tables in a classroom and which are suitable for different class sizes and activities. Furthermore I was informed of reasons for why students may have discipline problems and how to properly deal with such problems.
