This unit explained me that both listening and reading - receptive skills are equally important in the process of learning new language. Students need to be prepared for different types of activities that will help them to understand more advanced vocabulary. There are different motivations among students but it is way easier for the teacher to choose texts that will be interesting and engage students easily.
