We use modals before a verb to add meaning to the main verb in a sentence, to express many ideas such as and obligation, a possibility, an ability, an advice or an obligations with many other ways of expressions. The unit follows with explaining the passive voice considering that there are two voices in english: active and passive. The important thing to know is that only transitive verbs are used in the passive and intransitive verbs are not possible to form a correct sentences in passive voice. A good thing I learned as key is that passive is most often used when it is not known, not important or something that does not want to be said. Clauses have three categories: dependant, independent and relative. Each of them has a rule the modifies the sentences to its own way. The last lesson is about phrasal verbs which also has three types which are: intransitive, which are not followed by a direct object; transitive separable where an object pronoun can only come between the verb and particle and finally the transitive inseparable’s rule is that the object phrase come after the particle. One of the important thing I learned was that teacher should try to use the phrasal naturally during non controlled conversation so the students get familiarized with this type of grammar.
