In this unit I learned the most common methods and theories for teaching English as a second language. Also, I learned the different stages of a lesson and in what order to use them and to what effect. Finally, I learned the desired conclusion of each stage as I lesson plan. In this unit, I found the Task Based Learning approach to be most helpful in eliciting new and old language. I was happy to see that the lesson structure can be changed and molded to fit the students needs as a class and as individuals.
