In Unit 10 I learned about teaching the receptive skills of reading and listening. I learned the reasons for receptive skills, and the many ways we read and listen (such as skimming and scanning). I learned about problems with reading and listening, and solutions for those problems (such as pre-teaching vocabulary). I then reviewed an outline of a receptive skills lesson, and finally I reviewed a number of examples of receptive skills lessons.
