In the first video, the students had difficulty understanding the teacher because he was not clear about his instructions and what he wanted them to do. He also had his back towards them a lot and assumed they knew what he was talking about. It was more teacher focused and it was clear the students had no idea what was going on. In the second video, the teacher was more positive and engaging. He took the time to learn their names which created a more relaxed environment and got them wanting to learn and engage with him. He was clear about his instructions and had every student participating. The use of mime and signs, like his hand gestures certainly helped the students as well. The way he structured his lesson plan in the second video was a lot more pleasant and effective than the first.
