Firstly, I have learned that a good teacher is one who motivates his or her students to achieve good academic performance and socially accepted behaviour. This is strategically observing the type of students, whether he or she is intrinsically or extrinsically motivated.
Secondly, I have also learnt from this unit that a good learner is often self-motivated, usually articulate well and think critically.
The role of a teacher is multitasking;
- Manager: A teacher is a manager because he or she manages and control his or her class. He or she manages the human and non-human resources that is existing in the classroom.
- Assessor: A teacher is an assessor because the teaching learning process requires assessment to determine if growth is taking place. Academic growth needs to be tested at various times in the academic year by using assessment tools such as; tests, quizzes and examinations.
- Facilitator: A teacher is a facilitator because he or she ensures that the learning takes place by providing the educational material or information to create a good learning environment and use effective teaching strategy that facilitate both academic, vocational and social improvement in a child's learning process. The student is the centre of his or her lesson planning and delivery.The teacher applies a diversified approach to encourage positive academic growth.
