Unit 9 goes over Lesson Planning. A good lesson plan should act as more of a guide, then a fix structure. There are certain functions of lesson planning. Lesson plans should be an aid to planning, set expectations for student, and how the teacher intends to make that happen. It should be a working document, that helps keep things together, and gives the teacher something to refer to. It also should be a record of progress, since past lessons. There are important elements that should be included in a lesson plan. A lesson plan should include, learner objectives, personal lessons, language points, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedures, phase, timing, interactions, class level, number of students, the date/time, and the names of the teacher and observer. Organization is a main goal of lesson planning. On the teacher's behalf, there should be self- evaluation to know the extent of which the learner objectives and personal aims were met and there needs to be modifications to the lesson plan. Self- evaluation is a good way to find the strengths and weaknesses of a lesson. When planning sequences of lessons it is good have goals, but keep things flexible and leave room for revision. Both Students and teachers should aim for a goal from a sequence of lessons. It is just as important to update plan and modify aims, as well as ensuring the students retain information from past lessons.
