In general I believe that productive skills are harder to master in a foreign language than receptive skills. A lot of it has to do with lack of self confidence and simply not being aware of what is correct. Given these circumstances I think the EFL teacher has an obligation to foster these skills as much as possible in a safe judgement free environment. I have used a wide variety of games in my previous teaching experience. Some games work better than others and it is important to not let the fun of games outweigh the efficiency of the lesson in teaching the desired unit of English.
