This unit discusses several grammatical structures typically reserved for more advanced students of English. The lesson begins by examining modal auxiliary, which are used in conjunction with other verbs to express varying degrees of certainty, politeness and other characteristics vital to achieving fluency in a language. The various uses and conjugations are described as well for the present, future, and past tenses. The unit also goes into some detail regarding passive voice, a form of sentence construction that takes away the emphasis from the performer of the action taking place in the sentence. Most of the grammatical structures and concepts in this unit are recommended to be practiced through activities such as role playing and and visual aids.
