For this unit, I'm again surprised about the things that I don't really consider when speaking my native language. I'm not sure I have every studied or practiced with indirect and direct speech, so I hope that I was able to understand enough for the quiz.
I also had never considered the different ways we label a conditional sentence. I just considered them all grouped into one. I can understand how breaking them up into categories would help the students to gain a better understanding of how a conditional sentence works by giving them real life examples like our course book does. The teaching ideas part of the conditional section of this unit really helped me understand it a bit better myself, so I was feeling comfortable in that area and hopefully could make my class feel comfortable as well with something that seems daunting at first.
