It is very important to understant the difference between all modal auxilary verbs. If students won't learn it they can be rude in some situations or in opposite they can be too formal in an informal dialogue. Also some students think that it is not useful to learn passive voice but in reality it is very essential as we use passive voice both in conversation and writing. In addition, phrasal verbs make language more beautiful.I think it is possible to use usual verbs but to become fluent in English it is impossible to eliminate phrasal verbs from usage.
