Understanding the parts of the speech is fundamental for the study of any language, as well as for its lessoning. In this unit we have a clear view of each of the pieces that build a phrase and the function of each one. Similar words might play different roles during a speech and it is important to keep attentive, as the –ing form of a verb, which might be a gerund or act as an object. The different forms of an irregular verb (base, past simple, past participle and present participle) are also a challenge for students, and must be carefully exercised.
