Within the teaching of English as a Second Language (Esl) there are various types of groups that teachers need to be aware of in order to properly teach each group, with their needs and interests and so forth.
There can be five types of special groups: beginners, individuals, young learners, business English (English for specific purposes) and monolingual (entire class with the same L1) and multilingual (class with different L1, with English being their only language in common).
Each of these groups require a different approach, and the teacher should be aware of them.
