This unit is about productive skills, which are speaking and writing. As well as receptive skills, productive skills are equally important when learning a language. Something I found particularly interesting is the difference between learning speaking and writing skills. When we write we use a more formal language, we don't use many contractions, and we have to pay attention to capitalization, spelling and punctuation - but most of these are not part of the speaking process. When speaking we have to focus more on pronunciation (and create activities that motivate understanding of the different meanings with a word that is pronounced the same way).
