Unit 12 addressed the two productive skills which ESL students need to learn: speaking and writing. It also covered games and activities which can help in the teaching of these skills. Through this unit I learned about how writing can often fall through the cracks in ESL classrooms, but that it shouldn't and doesn't have to. I also learned about the importance of motivating students in their productive skills by creating a need and desire for communication.
