The examples given are great and definitely useful. Honestly I am not necessarily the most creative or artistic person so in my previous supervised classes I used materials off of the internet. I don´t think I would know what I am drawing if I looked at it later. I have not seen the telephone role play cards before, it looks like a great activity. As for text books I can certainly see the drawbacks in terms of not having enough specificity especially for beginner learners. I will have to use some trial and error but simple exercises may actually be easier to use a book simply as a guide for some structure.
