Coursebook and lesson materials are vital to each class. In this unit, we learned about authentic materials, created materials, and coursebooks. It was very helpful to see the advantages and disadvantages of coursebooks, but in the end, teachers should use the coursebook in a way that best fits their students. This means omitting certain things that seem like they wouldn't be relevant, replacing unsuitable materials with more appropriate materials, adding extra material that would reinforce a language point, and adapting the basic material to best fit the class' needs.
