This unit explained the types and uses of different forms of evaluation and testing. Evaluation and testing serve as a important method for checking language acquisition and areas of weakness. Many different method can be employed, including tutorials, evaluation by students, and tests. There are many different types of tests. Placement and diagnostic tests are used to gauge students levels. Progress tests are used to see if the students keeping up and wether the teacher needs to revisit areas. Practice tests are usually used in preparation for external examinations.
