Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit focused on modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. Modals are used to express obligation, probability, permission, ability and advice. They are words like "can" and "may." The verbs need to be conjugated for different tenses, like past and future. Depending on the modal verb used, the level of politeness is affected. For example, "can" when asking for permission is less polite than "could" which is less polite than "may." The same concept of different modal verbs having a different 'severity' is also present when talking about degree of obligation and certainty. Another key concept in this unit is passive and active voice. The former is when the focus of the sentence is on the agent (the one doing the action), while the latter is less concerned about the subject and is more concerned about how the subject was acted upon. The final point concerns phrasal verbs. These consist of a verb and a particle and can be difficult for non-native speakers to understand. It's also important to note that intransitive phrasal verbs cannot be followed by a direct object and transitive phrasal verbs can. Transitive phrasal verbs are split into two categories: separable (an object pronoun can come between the verb and the particle) and inseparable (an object pronoun cannot come between the verb and the particle).
