A great number of students prefer focusing on their speaking skills to developing their writing ones.In doing so,writing part is ignored and neglected as it is always assigned for homework beacause of the lack of time in class.Students usually feel uninterested in doing such activities which need a greater degree of accuracy due to the teachers' poor motivation.Speaking skills,on the other hand.need a greater degree of fluency.Can there be flunency without accuracy though?
According to my opinion,most of the students need a plan or some notes before starting talking about a topic and they really need a lot of practice to achieve fluency.So,I firmly believe that a small writing part is needed in order to make them develop their seaeking skills.
However,there are some students who deal with hinders through writing part as they cannot write their thoughts down and most of them cope with spelling problems or dyslexia.They are always complaining and nagging about their writing tasks and making excuses all the time.
As a matter of fact,writing skills need a lot of time to be spent and most of our students do not really keen on it.For this reason we should find ways and techniques to motivate them.Games and communicative activities through a well prepared straight arrow lesson will transform our students,either on developing their writing skills or speaking ones.
